For ultimate lulz pop an aftermarket shift knob on and give it to somebody for a drive.

That shift pattern makes no sens.

Maybe their business plan is to make money selling replacement gearboxes?

Well that’s unnormal. I sure hope they have an R lockout. Going to R and expecting 5 would be painful

I once let a co-worker drive my E34 525i 5MT. He attempted a U-shaped shift from fifth to third, like you’d have to do in this car to get from fifth to fourth. His aim was a little off and he went from fifth to first instead - bye bye clutch. It did have 231K miles on it, so it probably needed to be replaced in 20 or 30K miles anyway...

Luckily the clutch went before he could over rev the engine.

Seems like there’s a good CHANCE you’d select the wrong gear...

I’m kind of curious what would actually happen though...
Obviously, whatever it is is “not good”. And once you start grinding gears, would one be brave/stupid enough to fully let out the clutch pedal?

ah man, I wish there were cameras installed in this thing so that we can see how first-time Sens drivers screw up...
